13" & 18" Toms and Piccolo Snares

There are three simultaneous projects here:
1) I got an 18”x16” Tama Superstar tom in white satin flame and pretty average condition, removed the wrap, plugged the old holes, wrapped it in red glass glitter and added new hardware so it matches my maple/poplar kit. I then had a 13”x9” orphan tom with Pearl hardware that didn’t match the kit, so I rewrapped that but left the old hardware on it.
2) A mate asked me if I had a spare shell to make an insert for his Sleishman snare cradle, and as it happens I did have an offcut from a shell that I got to make reinforcement rings for my cherry snare. I then had just enough left to make one more drum, so I made myself a 14x3.5” piccolo snare.
3) Apparently the most practical use for an 18” floor tom is to put your drinks on it while you hit the smaller drums, and when I’m not playing my drums they get stacked shelves in the studio, so I made a fancy ‘table’ insert for the drum using mappa burl and some edge binding left over from the cherry snare.
